Without any doubt Open Office is the best free program pack for the office that exists, and is available in various languages.
It is made up of a text processor (compatible with Word), a spreadsheet (compatible with Excel), a database program (compatible with Access) and a presentations program (compatible with PowerPoint) among others. Its interface is also similar to the well-known MS Office pack (which is used by so many) but with the big advantage that it's free. If you use Microsoft Office (or have to send your work to others who do), and don't want to lose your work, there's no problems, as it is all compatible.
With Open Office you can do anything you can think of, as it has numerous tools to make life easier (more or less the same as MS Office). You even have the possibility to export the text directly to a PDF or XML.
As you can see, the size of Open Office is very small in comparison with its power, and thanks to its excellent installer you'll have no problems starting to use it.
This version of Open Office includes the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) pack.
